Ryan Tischer was born and raised in Carlton, Minnesota. As a child, he was exposed to the outdoors during family camping and fishing trips throughout northern Minnesota. In November of 2017 Tischer Gallery was opened in downtown Duluth, MN and in 2020 relocated to Canal Park. Ryan's fine art landscape photography has been displayed in homes and businesses around the world.
My goal as a landscape photographer and artist is to capture the emotional essence of a scene. The natural world is filled with an incredible energy and mood that is often indiscernible to the naked eye, yet can be captured with a camera. Sometimes the unique mood of light and interaction of elements within a composition create a truly magical photograph. My greatest reward is capturing this natural magic and sharing it with the world.
Camera & Printing Information:
Most images have been captured using modern medium format digital cameras and lenses (Pentax 645D/645Z), providing exceptional image sharpness and color rendition. Very few photographers use this extremely high-end and expensive equipment, which requires masterful technique and patience to use. All images are printed and framed in studio by the artist using museum grade canvas/fine art papers and archival pigment-based inks. This archival inkjet process, a.k.a. giclee, is more environmentally friendly than traditional wet printing and typically resists fading better.
